Marni Lawson

Artist, teacher, flautist, (“The Howlin’ Winds”, “ Hot Airs”quartets) Marni Lawson likes to think of herself as a “Medium for the Medium” painting energy and ideas, not traditional formats. With signature status in PWS and PVW, she won first prize in the VAS Treasury of Art Show when she relocated to VA. in 2005. She was featured on the cover of ELAN magazine, Downeast, and Maine Mtn. Digest. Organizer of an international art exchange between Farmington Me. and Lac Megantic Que., she also had two works exhibited in India in June of 2009. She teaches “Creative Thinking Through Watercolors” in VA and Maine and is available to do “Visual Conversation Workshops” with schools and businesses. “For me, doing watercolors is like raising children; the more you try to control them, the less success you have. But if you go with the flow, you get interesting results- rarely what you had in mind… ”
